Engaging with one's legacy in real time is pretty heady stuff: Bands like Visage, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Joy Division, Tubeway Army, The Cure etc... all took their cues from David Bowie. Bowie's late 70's and early 80's work finds an aesthetic dialogue between the master and his disciples, questioning the balance between art and POP, and the answer is, "Let's Dance".
